The game stays mostly true to the original with a few changes and additions here and there, so if you managed to platinum the original the remake shouldn’t cause you troubles at all. The trophy list, while different, is still close to the original. The differences are welcome ones since you no longer have to upgrade weapons using all the different materials, which eliminated the hunt for Shining Lizards. In exchange for the tedious grind the remake added a bunch of trophies for specific ways of defeating a boss and a few NPC-related ones, which are basically just a milestone for the Magic/Miracles related trophies.
The player is tasked in defeating demons with the help of the Maiden in Black, and save the kingdom of Boletaria. Regardless, Demon’s Souls’ incredible boss fights, fantastic world design, and brilliant use of the series’ multiplayer concepts have not aged a day. And with “it all” I mean the Soulslike-Subgenre of action RPGs. If you played the original you already know what you’re getting yourself into.
The Shrine of Storms has relatively easy boss fights — if you know the tricks. After completing the first section of [1-1] Boletarian Palace and defeating the Phalanx boss, you’ll be able to explore any of the four additional archstones. To progress, you must complete each of the four archstones to unlock the path through Boletarian Palace, eventually leading to the final boss.

It’s a glossier, more refined version of the PS3 classic, but one that stays true to the original’s gameplay and level of difficulty. Shortly after the announcement video, Wario64 tweeted the first released screenshots from the remake. The tweet can be found here and explains the screenshots are 4K Direct Feed. It was also pointed out that the description of the trailer mentions a “Fractured Mode”. While the meaning of Fractured Mode is purely speculation, it could be the implementation of unused content from PS3 where dying in Soul Form resulted in a permanent death.
Demon’s Souls Remake: Ps5 Requirements
Like most From games, the antagonists have already triumphed long before you appeared and it’s left uncertain to what degree you can remedy the situation. So rather than rushing to meet every enemy the game’s oppressive ambience encourages you to move more cautiously, to always have your shield ready and to expect enemies to appear at any moment, without warning. Sony can be pleased with this launch title, and soulslike players can rub their hands in glee for a great opening of the new generation.
After your first run you will need to focus on all the collectibles in the game, while getting through the story a second and third time for Rings, Spells and Miracles. This of course does not include the multiplayer aspects, which should add at least another 100 or so hours of gameplay in most cases, and likely more if you are a Souls fan who likes to co op and pvp a lot. Sound effects are excellent, and the sounds that spells make are simply fantastic. I could listen to them all day, and players will get a huge dose of nostalgia as they are summoned into another player’s world to the ever familiar chime. No complaints here, but you will note this means some sounds are different from what you remember. First, the rolling of the game is still really bad, even though it was improved from 4 directions to 8.
This armor set is easier to find than some of the other objectively better armor sets in the game. It can be found in the Prison of Hope, just on the first floor. All you need to do is reach the end of the corridor, turn right, and you’ll find the entire set. Specifically, you need to defeat here while she is still in her human form, which can be done when the World Tendency is Pure White.
BluePoint Games has already shown great prowess in remaking games, and with a title like Shadow de Colossus, it has proven to be a studio that has a lot to say. That’s why Sony, as an important launch title for the PlayStation 5 console, has given the Demon’s Souls remake to this manufacturer, and I have to say that this studio really worked great. Basically, in a remake game, the first and most important change in it is related to the graphics upgrade, and in fact, the game is rebuilt based on the original game, but with the quality of the world. In Demon’s Souls Remake, the whole game has been visually updated and all the animations have been updated, and incidentally, this animation has also affected the gameplay.
Featuring a design that looks inspired by Pyramid Head’s sword from the Silent Hill franchise, the Meat Cleaver packs a hefty punch in its oversized blade. Belying its sword-like appearance, this weapon is classified as a Large Hammer in the game. As a result, it can only be created by imbuing a mace, war pick, or Great Club with the soul of the Adjudicator Demon boss. The Claymore is an early-to-mid-game staple in most FromSoftware games, and Demon’s Souls is no exception.
It was really hard work, but we already knew that BluePoint could do that, and fortunately this developer still did not disappoint us. Demon’s Souls Remake is a masterpiece that should be one of your first games in the ninth generation and one of the main reasons to buy PlayStation 5 for Souls friends. Do not miss this masterpiece at all, of course, if you like to be challenged. The Demon’s Souls remake expands on that vengeful nature with the souls-echo idea. When you die, the souls you gained by killing enemies are held by the enemy who killed you, or put on the spot where you died to be reclaimed. If you die again without reclaiming those souls, they are gone for good.
Players will need to give Blacksmith Ed an item called the Hard Demon Soul, and, from that, he can craft this useful bow. TR88 , the Silent Chief can be found in World 3 – 2, in the Tower of Latria. You can choose to kill him immediately then and there, or you can also kill him once he arrives at The Nexus and you’ll still be able to claim the armor set. A special armor set made special for the remake, the Red-Eye Knight set is a heavy armor set that has some very cool flashy effects. The slits in the helm burn from underneath, giving the helmet a eerie glow, like molten lava bubbling from under the surface.
Demon’s Souls Remake is a faithful reconstruction of the original game with subtle modern-day improvements. A genre-defining masterpiece, it’s one of those games that is not for everyone but should be tried by everyone. Running beautifully in 4k and smoothly at 60FPS, Boletaria will entice you to go further, explore deeper, and dare to die again.
Ostrava thanks you for rescuing him and gives you the Brass Telescope. Once you’re back, pass through the fog door to progress towards the next section. Turn around, to see a Boletaria Soldier at the end of a corridor. The Boletaria Soldier will throw a Firebomb blowing everything up in flames, so be patient and wait until this attack.
